Great turnout with Squire Shippo, Squire THorshammer, Squire Piper and myself. We picked up two newbies and they then quickly picked up the game. One had played in Nevada before the park went down! Overall a good day of hitting people, and some Super Crappy (tm) chinese after the park was said and done.

Getting on our feet has been slow, but it's been something that's been a fight for awhile now. Military not withstanding we should start having better turnouts.

To catch up slightly, we ended up instituting a Newbie Welcome Day this past weekend. We had new players the weekend before last, one who was more interested than the other. So what we ended up doing was deciding that upon arrival of new players, Amtgard will be moved to one of our houses for the following weekend. We then take that time to instruct tham on various things that they have questions about, get them some basic garb made up, get them a weapon or two, have lunch with them, provide some fighting instruction, and then of course then ensuing ditching.

We had our first Newbie Welcome Day last week and Katara showed up, stayed all day, had a blast, learned a bunch of new stuff, got to know us a bit better, and went home with a basic tabbard and 2 swords, one of which was made for her by Jynx while he was explaining how to, the other which was made by herself.

Thanks to Jynx for making some fast garb and holding the how-to class for swordmaking, and to Shippo and Porkchop for demonstrating some fighting techniques outside. A good time was had by all, and she will definitely be coming back. Yay for new ideas!
