Kingdom December Althing Change Notice:

Post by UtherIronfist »

Hail People of GP. As you know December's Kingdom Althing is very important as it has the potential to change the way our Kingdom makes Knights. Seeing this fact Duke Wretch and the people of Nine Willows have asked that I move this Althing to Irongate as it is the central location of the Kingdom and will allows more of the general populace to travel more freely for the day. After discussing the matter with Duke Rodnik and the populace of Irongate they have no issues with me doing this. As such I am using my authority over the Althing under Corpora 3.0 section 4.1.1.1 to re-schedule and move the Althing. The Althing will now be held on Decemeber 15th 2013 on Irongate's field in Lubbock Texas at 3:00pm. If any of you will not be able to make this Althing due to this change I am very sorry. If you still wish a vote though, please contact Kingdom Prime Minister Sage and see what options she has for you to cast a vote by proxy. I hope to see each one of you there and I hope there is much excellent discussion to be had.

O_o No such thing. Votes are made by members present.

? No idea what you're thunking of. Maybe other places or for unofficial stuff but not for votes? We've never accepted proxies for Kingdom decisions, that's for sure. Otherwise we would have had a very different process over the years. One of the big reasons we centrally locate corpora change meetngs.
We've even recenrly discussed how to make it work given we're so spread out, and before that when folks in Midland had to drive to Amarillo to be heard, but there's no good way to verify the vote. Back then I took a look at some online tools used by nonprofits to hold meetings and cast signed votes but the process requires a lot of coordination and some amount of cash. The last time we discussed it, most said they wouldn't trust the process. So it was dropped. Worth looking into for the future given Skywatch and other possible parks. Gonna take some work tho.

I have seen votes taken by phone at a kingdom election not trying to stir shit at all just stating a fact.

You'll have to remind me cause I've got no idea when that might have been acceptable.

There are quite a few online tools that would work quite well. Open source even. They just need to be set up on a server somewhere.
