Kingdom Althing July 12th 2015

Kingdom Althing in Odessa, Tx at the Shire of Burnign Skies pard. Opened by King Uther at 4:10pm

Old Business:

Neither of the old business proposals have been re-drafted as of yet. King Uther makes a motion to table both until the next Corpora change althing in September. Seconded by Sheriff Verity.

New Business:

Motion on behalf of Kesic Black. Kesic Black notes that Raban, a Knight of the Celestial Kingdom, and former member of GP is currently suspended from the Golden Plains Kingdom for acts of violence against members of the Kingdom. That suspension ends on July 20th. After that ends per the Althing of July 21st 2012, Raban is to be permanently placed on probation in GP. Probation = No offices, no voting rights, no fighting. Kesic Black motions that this probation be lifted. This will count as Raban’s one appeal. This item is now on the 30 day wait for voting at the August althing in Skywatch on August 8th.

Discussion followed. It was stated that a probationary period should still happen regardless of anything else but that life might be a little harsh. Some of Rabans better qualities in A&S and his recent leadership of CK were mentioned to his benefit. It was clarified that this suspension and probation were already voted into place at the Kingdom althing on July 21st 2012. It was noted that none of the present people for the althing had met Raban so had only their own thoughts to work off of. It was stated that after 3 years, it seems enough. He should be allowed back in. It was clarified that today’s althing is only for discussion that the vote will happen next month in Skywatch at the August Kingdom Althing. It was stated that the victims should be consulted to see what their comfort level with this might be. It was stated that their security and sense of security should be a priority. King Uther accepts responsibility to reach out to both people, get their thoughts, and ask them to attend the next althing. It was asked if Raban had made any effort to apologize or atone for what happened. Nothing had been noted. Lastly it was noted that an effort to atone should be taken into consideration going forward, but that after three years if there was still nothing, then there might be no remorse there.

Announcements:

Burning Skies – Shire Midreign will be on August 9th 2015. Local Weaponmaster will be August 2nd.

Kingdom – The Adl Do Farms Corn Maize has been secured for the Kingdoms use. This will be a 2 night camping event. Begins on Friday August 22nd at 6pm and ends on Sunday August 24th at noon. Cost is still pending for this event. The maize will be open for our games but we must tread super careful this year. We will get to go into the maize before the general public event gets a chance to walk it. Remember we are charge $10 per corn stalk if we damage any. Alchohol will be allowed under the following conditions. 1. No Glass bottles, period. 2. No underage drinking at all, period. 3. Be responsible while drinking. Feast and Court will be on Saturday evening.

In regards to the Issue of Raban's Lifetime Probation, I would argue that this is completely unnecessary now that the Code of Conduct has been instituted. If Raban creates an issue within the Golden Plains, He can be permanently banned by agreement of the Monarch and either PM or GMR. At that time, he should have his chance to appeal if it is believed to be unjust.

This being said, I would propose that the measure preventing Raban from holding office within the kingdom be maintain. This stems from one of the major issues that occurred with Raban's knghting by CK is that as far as the people of GP knew, he was out Kingdom Regent. No notice had been given he was or had moved, which posed a huge issue for the people of the kingdom.
