What: First Annual Amtgard Nobles Retreat
Where: Site to be Determined – initially looking at a hotel and conference center somewhere in the Midwest
When: Tentatively early August Exact Date to be Determined – mid August after the Inter Kingdom event fury
Cost: Getting group room rate and conference center rates now but need your help to determine how much space so I can get the best bang for the buck!
Who is invited: Any Amtgarder w/ Noble title or serving as an officer for any amtgard park, freehold, principality, or kingdom.
Purpose: To provide an opportunity for the old and new leaders of amtgard to come together under one roof for the purposes of being able to network, and grow as leaders of this great game

Description of Events:
“Get to Know Someone New!” – This exercise will get everyone moving around actively and meeting new people and greeting old acquaintances. It is a chance to mingle as well as learn something about someone you may have never met or may not know very well.
“Build A Sandwich Exercise” – This 2 part exercise will speak a little bit about the relationship of how putting a sandwich together can be a lot like putting a park or a kingdom together and keeping it together. Also you will be building a sandwich for someone who you are not familiar with to aid in the demonstration. Plus you get some lunch out of it .
“Team Building Exercises” – This time will be used by participants participating in a series of team building exercise that you can take back to your parks and use if you desire. It will be a chance to move around and get the blood flowing!
“What Can I Do?” – An in depth presentation by our key note speakers addressing what it means to be a leader at any level of amtgard from just as a player all the way to being an officer of the different positions of amtgard, and how you can make a difference and feel good about it at the end of the day. You won’t want to miss this!
“Game Time!” – Get up and get the blood pumping! This is a chance to get up and move playing some games as well as perhaps learning some new types of amtgard related games you can take back to your parks.
“The Brain Storm” – We will break into small “focus” groups with people from different areas and brainstorm what we can do as individuals over the course of the next year to make our individual parks, principalities, or kingdoms better. Then we will come back together and discuss the ideas that came out of the groups and talk about goal setting and what we will do as a group until the next retreat.
“Demonstration of Court Procedures” – This will take place during feast and provide a comical view into what paump procedure is supposed to be all about as it pertains to court procedures, nobles, and royalty. It will be a fun informative lesson to sit back watch and have fun with!

I love you too, Monkey. You make me realize that if at the end of the world, you and I stood against Bag 'Em and Micahm, we could still have fun and keep our fun from being mandated or micro-managed.
Fun should be a little free and a little wild. Otherwise it's just one more thing to do.
