Posted: Tue May 04, 2010 11:21 am
Item 1:
Kingdom Qualls declared Invalid by the Qualls Coordinator due to a lack of Records/results.
Boots nominated as Monarch
Kat nominated as Regent
Arminius as Champion
Item 2:
The Boy Scouts have invited us (the Shire, but other volunteers would be welcome) to participate in a Ren-Fair throughout June. (There will be none of Amtgard's magic or goth aspects.)
The event will be every weekend (noon Friday through Saturday night) in June at Camp Don Harrington.
Amtgard will have a separate campground available to us for those who choose to camp Friday through Sunday morning.
Participants will be required to wear realistic, decent garb. Things like the standard T-Tunic and poof-pants work.
The orgainzers would like us to run boots to demonstrate certain aspects of medieval life, such as making chainmail, armor, live-steel, any arts and science things. PLEASE contact Sir Boots if you would like to volunteer.
Also needed will be Wondering Bards and Fighters. There will be Ditch battles and Militia Battlegames as well.
Friday and Saturday night there will be Choreographed combat scenes at dinner (for the Boy Scouts.)
All Volunteers willb e required to take a short class on child safety and will be considered part of the Boy Scout Staff, so there will be no smoking or drinking except in our private camp. Also no "open containers" will be allowed. All Volunteers will work together in pairs.
Kat and Boots will be providing supper for anyone camping friday and saturday nights.
Anyone willing to donate weapons for the live-steel booth please see Jeddak.
The camp has Adult Swim session on saturday nights. Regular swimming gear required.
Any minor that wishes to volunteer , must be accompanied by a legal guardian.
FOR MORE INFORMATION PLEASE CONTACT HOPPER.
This will be a wonderful opportunity for us, so we would like as many volunteers as possible. If this works out well, we may win the use of the Campsite for camping events. For anyone who has not been to Camp Don Harrington, this is a fantastic site for amtgard. They have a fort, a castle, and a ship that we can battle in and on.
Item 3:
The Shire will be hosting a Sword-making class, and a Newbie-Tourney on May 16th.
Prize for the tourney will be a pair of Amtgard Pants.
Item 4:
There will be a Demo for Robin Hood at the United Artist Theater.
