I was wondering who our Rules Rep was and if we need to elect a new one?
If we do I would like to add this to our upcoming Althing Agenda.
Rules Rep
I spoke with Otto and others this past weekend at Irongate's Midreign about this. I dont wanna speak for Ren but certain situations may warrant it. Ren has moved to a different city a couple months ago, actually. As such he has not been able to attend Amtgard regularly. He did say, though, (if I recall correctly) that he did not mind someone taking his place as rules rep as long as someone lets him know. So, I don't think he will mind if we elect a new rules rep. In fact, he might prefer that.
Sorry for any confusion on this . I was led to believe last summer that there were a few potential candidates ready and willing to replace me.
Per the rulebook, you don't have to have an allthing vote to get a new rules rep or anything like that. The rules rep position is entirely at the discretion of the kingdom monarch. When I was elected, the monarch chose to make it a public vote.
I would suggest someone for the position who battlegames regularly and has regular internet access, and who has the patience to basically lose a day of Clan sitting in a meeting with redundant discussion.
I will do this duty if the kingdom/monarch ask me to do so, but I would be an extraordinarily bad choice as I do not fulfill 2 of my own suggestions listed above. I strongly recommend appointing a replacement.
Again, sorry for any confusion.
