Volunteering at the Arboretum

I dont remember when our next allthing is, but as I mentioned during our last allthing I contacted the local Arboretum and I set up a date for us to volunteer as a group. This is subject to change if the populous wants it to happen further on or sooner which ever is preferred.
I have skeduled it for April23 9am-12pm.

This is three hours of work. This will give us a chance to give back to the park we call home. The Arboretum is special need of all the help that they can get, because the city is putting in a new pipe system and because this 2/3's of the plant population were destroyed. This season is going to be mainly rebuilding, there is alot of work to be done, so if this goes well we can volunteer as many times as we wish.

Please give your opinions on this i will need all the feedback possible. I told them we would bring at least ten volunteers.

I'm not there but I'm gonna throw my two cents in anyway

I know sometimes it's hard and we feel like we don't have an extra 3 hours for the things we need to do let alone the things we want to do, but everyone needs to really consider helping out with this volunteer opportunity. I've spent time doing post flood trash clean up at one of Kirkwood's local lakes in MO, as well as the laborious task of clearing honeysuckle trees (not vine)with a hand saw. Both jobs were exhausting and dirty, I had to get up early, and I was sore for days...but the satisfaction I got out of doing it more than made up for any of the "I could be sitting on my couch" feelings. So much so that I became a regular volunteer at the lake through my old school.

These few hours are a way to give back to the park that many of us have called home for years (whether we live there still or not). I know the dates are conflicting with an event, but as was said, those dates are flexible, and what a way to further improve standing in the community. Plus for any of you college students seeking transcript padding, volunteerism is a great way to acheive that!

I am more than willing to help, and make the girls do their part. My only question is weither we have to there the entire time scheduled. I as this because as of right now I work on Saturdays and would have to leave to get to work. My girls and Silverloc would be able to stay later though, but he works Saturdays also.

In answer to that question. Just try to stay for as long as you can. We will give us much help as we can with the park and then you can leave if you need to thanks.
