Kingdom Althing was called into order by Sir Bearrug
in DARK OASIS on 7-10-11

New Business:
• Sir Bearrug noted possible, further considerations regarding recent Corpora Change regarding Active credit status and the like—given the size of the Kingdom. Further discussion will occur and additional measures may be taken at the Irongate Althing 8/14/11.

• It was noted that a past corpora change regarding:

4.152 The officer presiding over an Althing shall only cast a vote in the event of a tie.

The issue this sought to resolve was double-voting by presiding officers. While the spirit of this notion may be supported, this rule is invalid for section 4.1 Althing given the implicit discussion of such in Amtgard RoP where any dues paid member has the right to a vote in Althings. As this concern is a significant one regarding compliance with RoP (brought to light by our former Shire) it must be resolved immediately. This was discussed at length and the following was proposed:
Resolved--For Althing’s the Presiding Officer May Vote and May Cast a Tie-breaking Vote In The Event of a Tie.
Approved 13 Yea, 0 Nay, 4 Abstain

• Given the Shire’s absence, and the imminent Circle of Monarch’s Meeting at the Gathering of the Clans this month, any decision to move the Kingdom seat from Amarillo to an active location was discussed so as to allow Sir Bearrug and/or his designee to indicate the populace’s preference when the issue comes before the CoM.
Resolved- Request the Kingdom Seat Be Moved to Irongate.
Approved 6 Yea, 6 Nay, 7 Abstain – Tie broken by the Monarch in favor of the resolution.

• Sir Drake and Squire Wretch requested consideration of a name change for the Kingdom given recent events.
Sir Bearrug requested a poll be taken at every field prior to our next Althing to determine the general feeling of the populace in regards to such a change and will now be on the docket for the Irongate Althing 8/14/11.

•Squire Wretch noted the huge success Nine Willows has had in recent months and requested a promotion for the group be on the docket for the Irongate Althing 8/14/11.

•Sir Bearrug requested that a vote be taken to determine the populace’s inclinations regarding the status of the departed Shire. Do we request a further stay before any other group is given leave, when and if they ask for such leave, to take on the Shire? Or do we wish, when and if another Kingdom asks, to allow the Shire to join another group?
The Althing voted in support of allowing the Shire to join another group, barring some unforeseen set of circumstances, if and when Sir Bearrug is approached by another potential sponsoring Kingdom. 10 Yea, 0 Nay, 3 Abstain

First, Otto you post very nice minutes! Organized, readable, with arrows and highlights. Makes it very easy to read. Makes me feel lazy for when i was posting minutes.


Second. As to Kindgom's name. I personally don't mind if the Kingdom keeps GP, though it might be confusing to those not informed. Which could be a good thing. Or a bad thing. Eh. Either way, i don't think we (the Shire/Freehold) even discussed it, just whether we wanted to keep the name.

Third, kudos to NW for improving to the rate of a level raise.

As Sheriff of Freehold of Golden Plains Proper, I thank the populace of The Kingdom of Golden Plains for the vote of support shown in this althing.

Personally, I don't see a reason why either party should have to change their name unless they want to. Amtwiki has a good accounting of the history and action that led to two entities with the same name if anyone who is confuse would wish to look up why.

And Naomi, I will explain what the foot note means on a more appropriate forum than one viewable by the public.

It's directed at person not in our Kingdom and has never been in our Kingdom. It is someone who has called the fighters in the Kingdom and former fighters in the Kingdom a 2 or 3 in a rating system of 1-10. (that included all fighters even our Warlords and Sword Knighs) It's our way of making a jab back at the Lurking one.
