for throwing weapons i take 1inch open cell foam (you can buy it by the sheet at Wal-mart or Hobby lobby)

6 inches by 1foot of it .. Roll the begining 6inches pretty Tight and then Roll the rest of it Snug... duct Tape it loosely and see it annoy people..

for a pole... just make sure there is plenty amount of Stab tip because you'll be useing it alot.. i suggest a bigger Surface area of a harder material (not metal or anything like that) but like apiece of leather at the end of the tip (but not where it protrudes out of the foam) so that way the core push's aginst the leather aginst the foam and doesn't push threw the foam as easy..

Bamboo - monster noodle - Camp pad - Pipe insolation - Grip tape - cover..

(optional. cutting utensiles and Packaging tape )

Thanks... I'll remember that. I guess I need to practice on making sure the padded end hits the other person and not myself. =+)
